Maintenance Mechanic
Pay: $28.00/hour
Schedule: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
or 3:30 PM–Midnight
Assignment: Project work through the end of the year, with an opportunity to be re-evaluated at that time based on business needs and performance.
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced
Maintenance Mechanic to support the maintenance and reliability of industrial machinery and equipment. This is a hands-on role responsible for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, equipment installation, and general mechanical support.
The ideal candidate has strong industrial mechanical skills, can troubleshoot electrical issues up to 480 volts, and is comfortable diagnosing problems and making repairs with minimal supervision.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on machinery and industrial equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment to identify the cause of problems and determine appropriate repairs.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems and components up to 480 volts.
- Install, rebuild, repair, replace, and refit machinery, equipment, and components as needed.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, maintenance instructions, schematics, and safety procedures.
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions and determine the materials, parts, tools, and resources needed to complete repairs.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, welding equipment, drill presses, and other industrial maintenance equipment.
- Monitor equipment performance and communicate recurring problems to the Maintenance Manager or Supervisor.
- Complete repairs and maintenance work safely, efficiently, and with attention to equipment reliability.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Work effectively with production and maintenance personnel to minimize equipment downtime.
- Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience in industrial maintenance or mechanical maintenance required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on troubleshooting and repair experience.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and equipment-related problems.
- Ability to read and understand safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance procedures, equipment manuals, and related documentation.
- Proficient with hand tools and power tools used in an industrial maintenance environment.
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions when troubleshooting equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English; Spanish bilingual skills are a plus.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced industrial environment.
What We're Looking For
We need someone who can roll up their sleeves, troubleshoot the problem, and get the equipment back up and running. This is an active, hands-on maintenance position, and requires someone who is comfortable working with machinery, tools, electrical systems, and mechanical repairs.
