Maintains, repairs, installs, relocates, and removes manufacturing machinery and equipment to support safe, reliable, and efficient production operations. Troubleshoots mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems; performs preventive maintenance; and accurately documents completed work and labor in IFS (ERP system).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Installs, relocates, and removes from service new and existing machinery and equipment in accordance with safety requirements and production needs.
- Performs routine repairs and preventive maintenance and troubleshoots mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and components.
- Assists senior mechanics with complex tasks during major repair or modification projects.
- Completes assigned preventive maintenance tasks and routine inspections following established procedures to reduce equipment downtime and improve reliability.
- Identifies equipment issues, reports findings, executes parts replacement and repairs.
- Utilizes manuals, schematics, drawings, and work instructions when completing assigned maintenance tasks.
- Completes work orders, inspection forms, preventive maintenance records, and all other required documentation accurately in a timely manner.
- Records labor, materials used, and work performed accurately in IFS.
- Performs building maintenance including plumbing and carpentry for facility repairs or reconstruction.
- Must be able to work from a ladder, scaffolding, and/or powered lift.
- Must be responsive to the needs of the production team. Coordinates maintenance activities with production supervision and other departments to minimize disruption to operations.
- Must be able to work well in a team atmosphere. Required to possess the flexibility to respond to rapidly changing priorities.
- Applies continuous improvement philosophy to consistently improve work quality and reduce costs.
- Continuously increases knowledge and updates skills related to job functions.
- Maintains a clean and orderly work environment and follows all lockout/tagout, machine-guarding, electrical safety, and other applicable safety procedures including use of personal protective equipment.
- Is responsible for wearing 100% cotton shirt/pants/socks during scheduled work hours
- Works flexible hours, including weekends and overtime as needed, including on short notice, to support production and maintenance needs.
- Must furnish their own basic hand tools.
Education:
- High School Diploma, or equivalent, preferred.
- Technical training in industrial maintenance or a related field preferred.
