Maintenance Mechanic

Pay Rate: $30 per hour

Summary:

• Location: Hicksville, NY
• Duration: 4 Months
• Work Mode: Onsite
• 1pm - 10pm, subject to change Mon-Fri, some weekends

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose problems and determine the extent of repairs or adjustments needed for equipment.
• Maintain, adjust, repair, rebuild, and overhaul equipment.
• Enter repair orders and keep maintenance records of time spent, materials, and parts used, and type of work performed in automated system.
• Organize, clean, and maintain workshop area.

Requirements:

• Familiarity with hands and power tools.
• Able to read and understand maintenance and specification manuals.
• Follow oral and written instructions.
• Capable of preparing work orders and records of service performed.
• Communicate and work effectively with all associates.
• Physical dexterity and ability to perform preventive maintenance on complex equipment.
• Able to perform all duties of a mechanic's helper without supervision.
• Standing for the entire shift.
• Lifting up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Noise typical of a production environment throughout the entire shift.
• Working around moving equipment regularly.
• Working in hot/cold temperatures regularly.
• Required: Steel-toed shoes.
• Fluency in reading and writing in either English or Spanish due to onsite safety.
• May need to access locations over 8 feet, work with a manlift, operate a machine, use a respirator, and work in confined spaces.
