Maintenance Mechanic Direct

Pay Rate: $23.00 - $25.00/Hour Pay based on experience

Summary:

• Location: Memphis, TN
• FTE - DIRECT HIRE
• 8-hour shift
• Must be able to work OT and weekends as needed

Responsibilities:

• Provide general oversight and responsibility for equipment and personnel within assigned building.
• Promote efficiency in all aspects of the building, including uptime, labor hours, repairs, and PM completion.
• Follow standard operating procedures and meet quality standards.
• Install, repair, and maintain large industrial textile processing equipment and facility maintenance.
• Perform start-up and shut-down procedures, electrical troubleshooting, and operate boilers.
• Engage in welding, cutting, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, and other systems work.
• Assist Maintenance Manager with plant maintenance operations.
• Build a maintenance program optimizing plant uptime, considering costs, and satisfying regulations.
• Complete PMs, troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild equipment independently.
• Monitor equipment and ensure it is in good working order, working with management for repairs or replacements.
• Monitor boilers and associated equipment for proper operation.
• Assist outside contractors with repairing and installing machinery.
• Apply general plumbing and HVAC skills to maintain equipment and facility.
• Comply with company policies and procedures.
• Maintain a neat and clean working area throughout the day.
• Operate forklift to unload and load trucks.
• Report all major issues to Chief Engineer and Production Manager and assist with resolution.
• Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with the production team.
• Follow all company safety rules.
• Be able to work well with a diverse workforce.
• Possess and maintain a positive attitude.
• Be able to work past the schedule, as issues may arise.
• This position may be physically demanding, with regular lifting of objects heavier than 50 lbs.
• The plant environment may be warm; ability to walk and stand for the entire shift is necessary.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of experience is required.
• Punctuality and reliability are a must.
• Honesty and exceptional work ethic.
• Ability to solve problems independently.
• High School diploma/GED equivalent required.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience reading electric diagrams.
• Continual standing and walking during shift.
• Continual reaching with hands/fingers/arms during shift.
• Occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling, and crouching during shift.
• Must be able to occasionally lift over 80 pounds.
• Will occasionally encounter toxic chemicals.
