Maintenance Mechanic

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced
Maintenance Mechanic to troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, install, and maintain production machinery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This hands-on position is responsible for minimizing equipment downtime and ensuring machinery operates safely, efficiently, and reliably.
The ideal candidate has strong mechanical troubleshooting skills with working knowledge of
machine systems, hydraulics, electrical systems, and precision alignment.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance & Repair
Diagnose machine malfunctions and production equipment failures.
Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues.
Perform repairs and adjustments necessary to restore equipment to proper operation.
Complete permanent repairs when practical to prevent recurring equipment failures.
Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability.
Respond to equipment issues during ongoing production operations.
Machine Rebuilds & Precision Mechanical Work
Assist with machine rebuilds, component overhauls, and major equipment repairs.
Fit, install, and align bearings, shafts, spindles, and related mechanical components.
Adjust feeding systems, limit mechanisms, gibs, ways, and other machine components.
Inspect mechanical systems to identify wear, alignment issues, or potential failures.
Utilize appropriate tools and measurement equipment to complete precision mechanical work.
Equipment Installation & Relocation
Assist with installation, relocation, and modification of production machinery.
Participate in equipment dismantling and erection activities.
Level, fit, and align machinery and components during installation.
Work collaboratively with Maintenance, Engineering, Production, and other teams during equipment projects.
Qualifications
Previous industrial maintenance, machine repair, millwright, or related mechanical experience.
General knowledge of mechanical systems and machine design.
Working knowledge of hydraulic systems.
Basic understanding of industrial electrical systems.
Ability to read and interpret machine drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial production equipment.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work safely around operating industrial machinery.
Must successfully complete required company testing for the position classification.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Hands-on troubleshooter who can quickly diagnose equipment problems and determine an effective repair.
Mechanically skilled with experience working on bearings, shafts, spindles, machine ways, and other precision components.
Comfortable supporting both emergency breakdowns and planned equipment rebuilds.
Safety-conscious and disciplined when working around heavy industrial machinery.
Dependable team member who understands the importance of minimizing downtime and keeping production running.
Physical Requirements
This is an active industrial maintenance position requiring frequent standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, crouching, bending, and pushing or pulling equipment. Candidates must be able to
lift up to 50 pounds and safely perform physically demanding maintenance activities throughout the workday.
