Maintenance Mechanic The Maintenance Mechanic of the physical plant represents the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts (ACPA) as a frontline team member modeling safe work practices while providing stellar customer service to both internal and external clients. Building support includes the daily operation and oversight of building systems and safety programs related to HVAC, controls, fire, mechanical and electrics. The Maintenance Mechanic assures a safe, reliable environment for staff, patrons, performers and clients. The Maintenance Mechanic performs inspections and makes minor to moderately complex repairs to building systems, structures, and equipment such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems and door hardware to assure their safe and efficient function. Additionally, the incumbent monitors performance of contractors and suppliers. Stores and issues materials. Operates power and hand tools in performing maintenance duties. Repairs custodial equipment. Performs welding as needed. All duties are performed under the direction of the Facility Manager, requiring consistent and regular communication. SUCCESS FACTORS PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF POSITION: Stand, sit, and walk. Stoop, kneel, crouch and climb. Lift or move 50 lbs.; move 100 lbs.; occasionally move 150 lbs.
