About the Position

Our client is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to help keep fleet vehicles and equipment roadworthy and ready for service. This on-site role performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, welding, and fabrication in a shop environment.

Pay & Schedule Details

• $24.29 per hour. $1.00 per hour night-shift differential
• Day shift: 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Night shift: 3:30 p.m. to midnight
• Weekly pay
• Overtime available for hours worked over 40

Job Details

• On-site maintenance position in Wahoo, Nebraska
• Fleet vehicle and equipment maintenance
• Preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, welding, and fabrication
• Hydraulic system troubleshooting
• In-shop repairs, with equipment transported for specialized repairs as needed
• Occasional roadside assistance for disabled vehicles may be required

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles and equipment.
• Review driver vehicle inspection reports and address identified maintenance concerns.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic systems and electrical wiring.
• Perform welding and metal fabrication work.
• Follow all safety rules and regulations and participate in scheduled safety meetings.
• Maintain a clean, organized shop using 5S principles.
• Respond to roadside service calls for disabled vehicles when required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• 3-5 years of recent, relevant, and verifiable driving experience.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record with no major traffic violations or preventable accidents in the last 3 years.
• Must meet all DOT and FMCSA requirements.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must provide and maintain personal mechanic tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Class A CDL preferred.
• Welding or metal fabrication experience, or technical schooling.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical wiring.
• Strong hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
• Detail-oriented and self-motivated approach to work.
