The Maintenance Manager provides leadership and direction for the maintenance department in a privately held, family-owned food manufacturing company. This role ensures equipment reliability, facility functionality, and infrastructure performance to support safe, efficient, and cost-effective production operations.
The Maintenance Manager serves as a change agent responsible for continuous improvement of maintenance systems, capital project support, and implementation of preventative and predictive maintenance programs that align with operational goals and food safety requirements.
Maintenance Leadership
Lead and manage plant maintenance team and activities.
• Ensure equipment reliability through preventative and predictive maintenance programs
• Maintain infrastructure including utilities and ammonia refrigeration systems
• Support manufacturing operations through rapid response to equipment issues
Regulatory Compliance and Food Safety
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, FSMA, SQF, and applicable regulatory standards
• Support food safety and quality programs through proper equipment maintenance
• Maintain documentation supporting audit readiness
Capital and Continuous Improvement
• Support plant capital projects including equipment upgrades and facility improvements
• Implement reliability-centered maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives
• Utilize data and scorecards to reduce downtime and improve equipment performance
Budget and Inventory Management
• Develop and manage maintenance budget including indirect spend
• Maintain appropriate spare parts inventory levels
• Manage maintenance purchasing needs in partnership with Finance
Collaboration
• Partner with Operations, Technical Services and Food Safety & Quality, and Finance to support company objectives
• Provide technical expertise supporting process improvements and equipment modifications
• Support training and development of maintenance Team Members

Education
• Technical degree or equivalent maintenance leadership experience required
Experience

• Experience supporting capital projects and equipment improvements
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance programs including SQF, OSHA, EPA, FSMA
