Maintenance Manager
Zone Health and Fitness • Ocala, FL • On-Site (East & West Locations)

About the Role
Zone Health and Fitness is looking for a skilled, reliable and hands-on Maintenance Manager to keep both our East and West locations running at their best. You'll be our go-to person for gym equipment maintenance, facility repairs and general handyman work. You'll make sure every machine works, every space is safe, and every member walks into a facility we're proud of. The ideal candidate can troubleshoot and repair equipment, order parts, keep track of parts inventory, handle building repairs from flooring to paint, stays highly organized, and takes pride in a job well done.

Responsibilities

Equipment Maintenance & Repair

  • Inspect, maintain and repair all gym equipment and machines (cardio, strength, cables, benches and more) to keep them safe and working properly
  • Do preventive maintenance on a regular schedule to reduce downtime and extend the life of equipment
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems, replace worn parts, and coordinate with manufacturers or outside technicians for repairs beyond in-house ability
  • Evaluate repair cost estimates and recommend repairing or replacing equipment and purchasing

Equipment Tracking & Inventory

Keep an up-to-date spreadsheet log of all equipment and machines at both locations, including parts inventory, service dates, repairs completed and upcoming maintenance

  • Track replacement parts on hand and reorder before stock runs out
  • Keep service history accurate for warranty claims, budgeting and planning

Facility Repairs and Work

  • Complete general facility repairs, including flooring (rubber gym flooring, tile, carpet), walls, drywall patching and painting
  • Perform minor plumbing, electrical, and general fixture repairs, including replacing light fixtures, bulbs, outlets, and other basic maintenance items. Any electrical work requiring specialized expertise or licensing must be completed by a licensed electrician.(license rquired)
  • Repair or replace doors, locks, lockers, mirrors, shelving and other fixtures
  • Plan and manage larger repair and installation projects, including scheduling outside contractors when needed

Janitorial Supplies & Cleanliness

  • Order all janitorial and cleaning supplies for both the East and West locations and keep them stocked
  • Work with janitorial supply vendors to manage pricing, orders and deliveries
  • Oversee facility cleanliness standards, including restrooms, locker rooms and equipment sanitation

Leadership & Administration

  • Create and implement maintenance procedures and train department staff
  • Supervise maintenance staff and assign repair schedules
  • Track expenses and manage the maintenance budget
  • Prepare daily progress reports and maintenance logs
  • Keep both buildings safe and secure, including locking up when required, keeping the fire extinguisher and alarms service UpToDate
  • Manage and communicate with the Extermination and HVAC vendors

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in facility maintenance, equipment repair or handyman work (gym equipment experience strongly preferred)
  • Hands-on skills in basic carpentry, painting, drywall, flooring and minor plumbing and electrical repairs
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Excel to track inventory, service dates and maintenance records
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent organization, communication and leadership abilities
  • Strong work ethic and high attention to detail
  • Reliable transportation to travel between the East and West locations
  • Able to lift up to 100-200 lbs, climb ladders, and do physical work for extended periods
