An established pet food manufacturer is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead its maintenance department, improve equipment reliability, and support daily plant operations. Location: Warren County, IL | On-site
Salary: $100,000–$115,000 base + benefits
Job Type: Full-time, exempt

An established pet food manufacturer is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead its maintenance department, improve equipment reliability, and support daily plant operations. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this leader will develop the maintenance team and take ownership of preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and long-term equipment performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop the maintenance team.
• Manage preventive maintenance schedules and work orders through the CMMS.
• Identify recurring equipment issues and implement improvements to reduce downtime.
• Support electrical and mechanical troubleshooting across production equipment.
• Coordinate maintenance priorities with production to keep operations running efficiently.
• Support equipment upgrades, facility improvements, and capital projects.
• Maintain safe work practices and support food safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Maintenance leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong hands-on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with preventive maintenance, CMMS, and equipment reliability.
• Ability to prioritize repairs, coordinate projects, and develop technicians.
• Food, pet food, feed, or related manufacturing experience preferred.
