Job Title: Maintenance Lead Date: July 2026Reports to: Manufacturing Manager
SummaryThis role is primarily a hands-on maintenance technician who also coordinates the day-to-day maintenance work. The Maintenance Lead performs PMs and repairs, runs daily maintenance activities on the floor, guides and supports the maintenance team and serves as the main maintenance contact for production. The role also manages work orders and vendors, handles purchasing and documentation, and works with and takes direction from the Manufacturing Manager on overall decisions, priorities, and strategic initiatives to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient production.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive maintenance and general repairs on production equipmentTroubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and basic pneumatic/hydraulic issuesSupport daily maintenance tasks, inspections, and housekeepingWork alongside team to lead and coordinate daily activities of the maintenance teamPrioritize, assign, and follow up on work ordersWork closely with the Manufacturing Manager to align maintenance activities with production plans, safety requirements, and strategic objectivesServe as primary maintenance contact for production and other departmentsEscort and coordinate external vendors and contractorsWork with vendors to schedule service, obtain quotes, and resolve issuesEnter purchase requisitions for parts, tools, and servicesMaintain accurate maintenance records, PM schedules, and CMMS dataSupport and help implement improvements to maintenance procedures and best practicesAssist with training and onboarding of maintenance team membersHelp coordinate minor projects and equipment upgrades as directed by the Manufacturing ManagerPromote and follow all safety practices and model FMD valuesEmbody the core values of Integrity, Velocity and Teamwork
Qualifications
Industrial or facility maintenance experience requiredExperience in a lead, senior technician, or coordinator role preferredStrong mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting skillsAbility to read manuals, schematics, and work instructionsComfortable on the shop floor and in CMMS/ERP/admin systemsStrong organization, time-management, and prioritization skillsEffective communication across departments and with vendorsDemonstrated commitment to safety and continuous improvement
