Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking a dependable Maintenance Helper for a potential temp-to-hire opportunity in Joplin. This position will work alongside the Maintenance team, providing hands-on support with daily maintenance activities involving powders, chemicals, equipment, and general facility operations.
The ideal candidate has basic mechanical and electrical skills, communicates effectively, and is interested in building additional industrial maintenance experience. This is a strong opportunity for someone with mechanical aptitude who wants to gain hands-on experience working with an established Maintenance team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Assist Maintenance personnel with daily assigned responsibilities
Provide hands-on support during maintenance activities
Assist with tasks involving powders and chemicals
Help prepare tools, materials, and equipment for maintenance work
Assist with basic mechanical maintenance tasks
Provide support with basic electrical maintenance activities as directed
Help identify and communicate equipment or facility concerns
Maintain tools and materials in organized condition
Keep maintenance and work areas clean and safe
Follow instructions from Maintenance Technicians and supervisors
Follow all company safety policies and procedures
Properly use required PPE when working around powders, chemicals, or equipment
Assist with additional maintenance and facility duties as assigned
Mechanical & Electrical Support
Candidates should have a basic foundation in:
Mechanical equipment
Basic electrical systems
Hand tools
Maintenance procedures
Equipment troubleshooting concepts
General industrial maintenance
This is a Maintenance Helper position, so candidates are not expected to perform advanced repairs independently. The ability to understand basic mechanical and electrical concepts and learn from experienced Maintenance personnel is important.
Powder & Chemical Support
This position will assist the Maintenance team with work involving powders and chemicals.
Candidates must:
Follow all applicable handling procedures
Wear required PPE
Maintain clean and organized work areas
Follow instructions carefully
Report spills, unsafe conditions, or concerns immediately
Maintain strong awareness of workplace safety
Preferred Qualifications
Previous Maintenance Helper experience
Industrial or manufacturing experience
Mechanical experience
Basic electrical experience
General facility maintenance experience
Experience using hand and power tools
Production or warehouse experience
Previous experience working around industrial chemicals or powders
Education Requirements
High school diploma required

Candidates must successfully complete:

Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling
Ability to safely handle maintenance tools and materials
Manual dexterity required for basic mechanical and maintenance tasks
Comfortable performing physically active work throughout the shift
Ability to safely work around industrial equipment, powders, and chemicals
Ability to wear all required PPE
Work Environment
Industrial maintenance and manufacturing environment
Regular interaction with Maintenance personnel and production operations
Work may involve powders, chemicals, mechanical equipment, and electrical systems
Hands-on support position with opportunities to develop additional maintenance skills
