Position: Coordinator Auxiliary Assignment: Maintenance Grounds Environmental Coordinator Wage/Hour Status: Non-Exempt Reports to: Director of Facility Services Pay Grade: AX580/260 days Dept./School: Facility Services Date Revised: Spring 2024 Primary Purpose: Under general supervision, provide a safe and secure learning environment through performance of asbestos surveys, abatements, District fuel systems and air testing for district personnel. Qualifications: Minimum Education/Certification: High School Diploma/GED Valid Texas Driver License Driving record that meets the requirements of the district's insurance carrier. Accredited Management Planner and Inspector Special Knowledge/Skills/Experience: Three years in asbestos field, or related field Strong organizational, communications, and interpersonal skills Computer skills with the ability to generate relevant and understandable reports Possess a positive attitude Knowledge in asbestos surveying and abatements Knowledge of State and Federal Requirement Major Responsibilities and Duties: Coordinate with district bid vendors regarding asbestos surveys, asbestos abatements, and air testing. Maintain fueling system records and inspections; monitor fuel levels and order fuel when needed. Completes continuing education as required by State or Federal guidelines Maintains official District record for asbestos Point of contact to Cities of the District regarding asbestos when related to remodel or building construction changes Establish schedules with building Principals Other duties as assigned Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Personal computers and peripherals, office equipment and tools, Microsoft programs and other software, maintenance equipment; industry tools; hand tools; power tools, shop equipment, district vehicles/trailers and safety equipment Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting Frequent repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse, standing and walking Occasional lifting and carrying (40 pounds and over). Work is performed in an office setting; Occasional work outside on slippery or uneven walking surfaces; frequent exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust, toxic chemicals and fumes, noise, vibration, and electrical hazards; work around gas lines; work around machinery with moving parts; may work in tight or enclosed spaces; may work alone; regularly work irregular hours; occasional prolonged hours; frequent districtwide travel Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions OTHER: All employees are to follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
