Job Summary
Employnet is seeking a reliable and experienced
Maintenance Facilities Technician to support the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of production equipment and facility systems. This position will troubleshoot equipment issues, perform preventative maintenance, respond to breakdowns, and help ensure a safe and efficient production environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production equipment and facility systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other facility-related issues.
- Inspect equipment and machinery to identify potential problems and prevent unexpected breakdowns.
- Maintain and repair conveyors, motors, pumps, compressors, refrigeration systems, and related equipment.
- Perform basic electrical troubleshooting involving wiring, switches, sensors, and controls.
- Use hand tools, power tools, meters, and other maintenance equipment safely.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance requests.
- Assist with equipment installation, relocation, repairs, and modifications.
- Complete maintenance work orders, inspection records, and preventative maintenance documentation.
- Maintain an organized inventory of maintenance parts, tools, and supplies.
- Assist with general facility repairs, including doors, lighting, walls, fixtures, and other building components.
- Maintain a clean and safe maintenance work area.
- Work closely with production and operations teams to address equipment and facility needs.
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, food safety standards, and GMP procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives designed to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
Qualifications
- Previous maintenance, facilities, industrial, or manufacturing maintenance experience preferred.
- Mechanical, electrical troubleshooting, plumbing, and carpentry experience.
- Ability to read and follow equipment manuals, maintenance procedures, and technical instructions.
- Experience using hand and power tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and make repairs with limited supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and reach throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift and move maintenance materials and equipment as required.
- Ability to work around machinery, production equipment, varying temperatures, and other manufacturing conditions.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Education and Experience:
Minium of high school diploma or technical training and at least two years working experience in facility maintenance; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
