Job Title: Equipment Technician
Position Type: 12-Month Contract (Possibility of FTE)
Location: Jeffersonville, IN
Salary Rate: $27.00 – $30.00/hr (USD) on W2
Job Description:
The Equipment Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and optimizing manufacturing equipment to support safe, reliable, and efficient production operations. This role will work closely with production and cross-functional teams to minimize equipment downtime, resolve technical issues, and ensure equipment operates according to established quality and safety standards.
The position requires flexibility to work 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, overtime, and other non-standard hours based on operational requirements.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
Diagnose equipment malfunctions, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective solutions.
Monitor equipment operation throughout the assigned shift and make necessary adjustments to maintain production efficiency.
Collaborate with production teams and other cross-functional groups to resolve equipment-related issues and support uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, repairs, and corrective actions.
Prepare shift reports and communicate equipment status, ongoing issues, and completed maintenance activities during shift handovers.
Follow established maintenance procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards to ensure safe and compliant equipment operation.
Assist with the installation, setup, calibration, upgrades, and modifications of new and existing manufacturing equipment.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for equipment optimization and process enhancements.
Adhere to assigned working hours and shift schedules, including overtime, nights, weekends, and other non-standard hours as required.
Requirements:
Associate’s degree or vocational training in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related technical field; equivalent relevant hands-on experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
1–3 years of relevant experience in equipment engineering, equipment maintenance, manufacturing maintenance, or a related field preferred.
Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing equipment with hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing complex machinery.
Experience with solar manufacturing equipment, such as screen printers, diffusion furnaces, wet benches, or PECVD systems, is highly desirable.
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to analyze equipment issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions efficiently.
Proficiency with maintenance management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with production and cross-functional teams.
Commitment to workplace safety, quality, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement.
Ability and willingness to work 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, overtime, and other non-standard hours as required.
