Position : Hourly, Full TimePOSITION SUMMARY
The Engineering Supervisor supports the Director of Engineering in the daily operation and supervision of the Engineering Department. This position assists with maintaining the property, equipment, guest rooms, and building systems in a safe, efficient, and professional manner.
The Engineering Supervisor will help coordinate daily maintenance activities, respond to engineering service requests, assist with preventive maintenance, and provide support and direction to Engineering team members.
This is a
full-time position requiring a flexible schedule, including
weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as needed. The Engineering Supervisor must be willing to work
overtime when needed to support the Engineering Department and ensure operational needs are met.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES- Support the Director of Engineering with the daily operations of the Engineering Department.
- Assist in supervising, directing, and supporting Engineering team members.
- Assign and prioritize maintenance and engineering work as needed.
- Respond promptly to guest room and property maintenance requests.
- Perform preventive maintenance and basic repairs throughout the property.
- Inspect equipment, guest rooms, public areas, and building systems and report issues requiring attention.
- Assist with troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance issues.
- Ensure maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to company standards.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and documentation.
- Monitor and document parts, supplies, tools, and equipment used by the Engineering Department.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe engineering work areas.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, equipment failures, safety concerns, and other urgent maintenance needs.
- Communicate maintenance issues and operational concerns to the Director of Engineering.
- Assist with training and coaching Engineering staff on proper procedures and safe work practices.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Provide professional and courteous service to guests and hotel associates.
- Assist with special projects and other duties assigned by the Director of Engineering or management.
SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS- Full-time position
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed
- Must have flexible availability to accommodate business and operational needs
- Must be willing to work overtime when necessary
- May be required to work different shifts, including mornings, evenings, or other hours based on department needs
QUALIFICATIONS- Previous hotel engineering, maintenance, facilities, or building maintenance experience preferred.
- Previous supervisory or lead experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of general building maintenance and repairs.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and maintenance issues.
- Ability to prioritize work and respond effectively to emergencies.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while also supporting and directing a team.
- Professional attitude and commitment to excellent guest service.
- Ability to safely lift, carry, push, pull, bend, kneel, climb, and perform other physical tasks associated with maintenance work.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain flexible as operational needs change.
- Valid driver's license may be required depending on property requirements.
This position reports directly to the
Director of Engineering and is responsible for helping ensure the Engineering Department operates effectively and provides timely support to the property, guests, and hotel associates.
