Overview:

The Maintenance Engineer plays a key role in ensuring our resort remains safe, functional, and guest-ready at all times. This position supports day-to-day maintenance operations across guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, and facility systems. Ideal candidates bring strong handyman abilities, experience in a hospitality environment, and a commitment to exceptional service. Pay Range $21.35-23.35 #towncountrysd

Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general repairs.

  • Complete work orders accurately and efficiently within established timelines.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, HVAC, and building system issues.

  • Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms, corridors, equipment, and public spaces to identify maintenance needs.

  • Assist with preventative maintenance programs to prolong equipment life and minimize downtime.

  • Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests while ensuring minimal disruption.

  • Support emergency maintenance needs and participate in on-call rotation as required.

  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in safe, clean, and orderly condition.

  • Adhere to all safety procedures, union guidelines, and resort operating standards.

  • Collaborate with the maintenance team and other departments to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications:
  • Strong handyman skill set, including general trades experience (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, mechanical repairs, etc.).

  • Previous experience in a resort, hotel, or hospitality environment strongly preferred.

  • Working knowledge of building systems and maintenance protocols.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, safety documents, and work orders.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must be able to lift, push, and carry heavy equipment and work in various physical environments (heights, tight spaces, outdoors).

  • Must meet union membership and classification requirements upon hire.
