Maintenance Engineer

The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning, safety, and maintenance of all hotel facilities, equipment, and systems. This role plays a critical part in delivering a comfortable and high-quality guest experience by proactively addressing maintenance needs and responding promptly to repair requests.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on hotel systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment
• Respond quickly and efficiently to guest room maintenance requests and emergencies
• Conduct preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime
• Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions in hotel infrastructure and systems
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, inspections, and repairs
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and company standards
• Assist with energy conservation initiatives and sustainability programs
• Support renovation projects and upgrades as needed
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless hotel operations

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred
• 2+ years of experience in maintenance, engineering, or a related field (hospitality experience a plus)
• Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building systems
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints
• Basic computer skills for work order systems and reporting
• Relevant certifications (e.g., HVAC, electrical) are a plus
