Senior Maintenance Engineer - Kentucky Position Summary
A leading advanced manufacturing organization supporting critical industrial and energy-related applications is seeking a Senior Maintenance Engineer to support plant reliability, asset performance, and long-term maintenance strategy within a high-performance production environment.

This role partners closely with Operations, Reliability, and Engineering teams to develop and execute strategic maintenance initiatives that improve equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and plant sustainability. The position is responsible for planning and coordinating major maintenance activities, capital improvements, equipment upgrades, and repair programs for both rotating and stationary assets.

The successful candidate will provide technical leadership for maintenance and mechanical integrity programs while supporting safe and efficient plant operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement repair solutions for rotating and stationary equipment in coordination with OEMs, manufacturers, and external repair vendors.
  • Develop equipment specifications, maintenance standards, and repair procedures for critical plant assets.
  • Support the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of new equipment and plant modifications.
  • Develop and maintain maintenance project schedules, including expense and capital improvement initiatives.
  • Lead and supervise major equipment repairs, shutdown activities, and mechanical upgrades.
  • Recommend equipment modifications and reliability improvements to optimize plant performance and reduce downtime.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of plant operating procedures and maintenance best practices.
  • Support compliance with applicable safety, environmental, and operational management systems.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with rotating equipment design, repair, and reliability practices.
  • Knowledge of welding processes and mechanical repair methods.
  • Working knowledge of equipment lubrication and preventive maintenance strategies.
  • Familiarity with ASME codes and industrial mechanical standards.
  • Understanding of industrial safe work practices including:
    • Confined Space Entry
    • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
    • Hot Work permitting
    • Permit-to-work systems

Preferred Attributes
  • Experience managing maintenance projects and equipment upgrades in a continuous manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with operations, engineering, contractors, and maintenance personnel.
