    Description

    The LFP Maintenance team is expanding its scope to support the installation and upkeep of manufacturing lines that advance Tesla's mission to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy. You will partner with internal stakeholders (infrastructure, production, and purchasing) and external contractors to deliver integrated LFP manufacturing solutions. Your primary goal is to protect equipment availability and support production by preventing failures and providing expert guidance on repairs.

    • Provide technical support for in-plant and offsite repair of LFP process equipment, maintaining compliance with site and industry standards
    • Provide input on repair plans for maintenance technicians and lead advanced troubleshooting on LFP production assets
    • Conduct and document equipment install, inspection, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis on LFP lines
    • Drive the preventative maintenance process to maximize uptime and asset life for LFP manufacturing equipment
    • Develop and optimize preventive maintenance (PM) programs
    • Assist in developing spare parts BOM and determining min/max levels
    • Work with rotating equipment common to LFP processes (e.g., blowers, screw feeders, gearboxes, rotary valves, conveyors, mixers, dryers, etc.)
    • Collaborate with colleagues to drive LFP equipment performance and availability
    • Create and track performance metrics using tools such as Excel, Power BI, etc.
    • Degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or equivalent experience as a senior maintenance technician in manufacturing equipment troubleshooting, repairs, and developing asset strategies to increase asset life
    • 5+ years of industry experience in rotating equipment engineering (battery materials, chemical, or manufacturing experience preferred)
    • Expertise in maintenance strategies for rotating equipment in continuous or batch process environments
    • Fundamental understanding of process-containing equipment used in LFP manufacturing (e.g., powder handling, mixing, coating, drying)
    • Proven experience in large-scale turnaround or construction coordination
    • Background in site safety management systems (Lockout/Tagout, Management of Change, etc.)
    • Basic understanding of process instrumentation (e.g., flow, temperature, and pressure transmitters)
    • Experience developing equipment documentation, drawings, inspections, audits, etc.
    • Proficiency in computer-aided design software
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
