Maintenance Electrician

Responsibilites

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues with shipyard equipment, machinery, and facility systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance on motors, motors controls, electrical panels, lighting, and power distribution equipment.
• Inspect wiring, connections, and electrical components; repair or replace damaged parts.
• Read and intrepret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
• Use electrical testing equipment to identify faults and verify repairs.
• Follow shipyard electrical safetyprocedures, including requires energy isolation and lockout/tags-plus practices.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and coordinate repairs with the maintenance and operations teams.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an industrial or maintenance electrician.
• Working knowledge of three-phase electrical systems, motor controls, and electrical troubleshooting.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and safely use meters, testing instruments, and hand tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills, dependable attendance, and a commitment to safe work practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
• Ability to perform seential duties in a shipyard enviroment, with or without reasonable accommodation, including working outdoors, climbing ladders, bending, and accessing equipment.

Preferred Experience

• Shipyard, marine, manufacturing, or other heavy industrial maintenance experience.
• Experience with 480-volt systems, variable frequency drives(VFDs) and programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
• Electrical trade school or aprrenticeship training.
