Description
Superior Recruiting Agency is seeking an experienced 1st Shift Maintenance Electrician for a manufacturing facility in the local Hazleton area.
This position will focus on maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting electrical systems and production equipment used throughout an industrial manufacturing operation. The Maintenance Electrician will play an important role in keeping machinery operating safely and reliably while helping minimize equipment downtime.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on industrial electrical experience, a strong understanding of manufacturing equipment, and the ability to diagnose electrical and equipment-related issues in a production environment.
This position works closely with maintenance personnel, production employees, supervisors, and facility management to address equipment concerns and support day-to-day manufacturing needs. A strong commitment to workplace safety, proper maintenance procedures, and reliable equipment performance is essential for this role.
Job Responsibilities
• Diagnose electrical and equipment-related problems using technical drawings, equipment documentation, schematics, manufacturer information, and other available technical resources.
• Evaluate operating machinery to identify potential electrical or mechanical issues through visual inspection, equipment sounds, testing procedures, and appropriate diagnostic instruments.
• Determine the underlying cause of equipment failures or performance issues and complete necessary repairs to restore proper operation.
• Install, service, adjust, repair, and maintain electrical components and production-related machinery throughout the facility.
• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance to help reduce unexpected equipment failures and maintain reliable production operations.
• Install and configure electrical infrastructure and components, including wiring circuits, conduit, breakers, electrical panels, transformers, and related equipment.
• Inspect and monitor production machinery to ensure equipment remains in appropriate operating condition.
• Respond to equipment malfunctions and production downtime by troubleshooting problems and completing repairs in a safe and timely manner.
• Make necessary equipment adjustments to maintain proper operating conditions and support consistent production performance.
• Use electrical testing equipment, precision measuring instruments, hand tools, and other maintenance equipment to diagnose and correct problems.
• Work with production and maintenance personnel to address equipment concerns and help minimize disruptions to manufacturing operations.
• Follow established electrical, maintenance, and workplace safety procedures while completing all assigned work.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on maintenance experience within an industrial, manufacturing, or similar production environment.
• Strong working knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements and accepted industrial electrical practices.
• Well-developed electrical and mechanical troubleshooting abilities with experience diagnosing and repairing production equipment.
• Experience working with low-voltage control systems ranging from 24V through 120V.
• Hands-on experience safely working with industrial electrical systems including 120V, 208/240V, and 480V applications.
• Previous experience troubleshooting, maintaining, or working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
• Familiarity with industrial network systems, equipment monitoring systems, SCADA-type controls, and related troubleshooting procedures.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to systematically identify the cause of equipment or electrical problems and determine appropriate repairs.
• Ability to evaluate existing equipment and processes and recommend practical improvements that may increase reliability, efficiency, or overall performance.
• Comfortable using power tools, hand tools, electrical testing equipment, tape measures, levels, and other tools commonly used in industrial maintenance.
• Ability to work independently when troubleshooting equipment while also collaborating effectively with production, maintenance, and management personnel.
