Electrical Maintenance Technician - Akron, OH - JOB 26-00798

Salary Range: $56,000 - $90,000 Full-Time Permanent Position with Benefits
2nd shift: (3pm-11:30pm) or 3rd shift (11pm-7:30am)

Seeking an Industrial Electrical Maintenance Technician to join an established plastics manufacturing facility in Akron, Ohio. In this role, you will diagnose, repair, and maintain automated machinery, robotics, and industrial electrical systems with a strong focus on plastic injection molding equipment open to 2^nd or 3^rd shift.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, and repair electrical and controls hardware, including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, robotics, safety circuits, and industrial power distribution systems.
• Perform scheduled preventive/predictive maintenance, calibrate instrumentation, overhaul electrical components, and execute emergency breakdown repairs.
• Interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic diagrams, single-line wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Assist with equipment installations, controls retrofits, panel wiring, conduit runs, and basic parts fabrication using standard machine and hand tools.
• Enforce OSHA, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and Arc Flash electrical safety standards across all work areas.
• Work with the Maintenance Supervisor and Injection Molding Foremen to minimize downtime and eliminate repeat defects.

Requirements

• High School , vocational/technical certificate, or trade school training in Electrical/Electronic or Industrial Maintenance.
• 3–5+ years of industrial electrical maintenance experience.
• Experience troubleshooting plastic injection molding machinery and automated auxiliaries.
• Proficient with PLCs, motor controls, VFDs, relays, transformers, and 480V 3-phase power distribution.
• Use digital multimeters, calibrators, oscilloscopes, wire strippers/crimpers, and electrical hand tools.
• Lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders/scaffolding, work in tight or awkward spaces around machinery, and maneuver safely in an active manufacturing environment.
