Conveyor Technician II

Position Summary

The Conveyor Technician II is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on conveyor systems, Material Handling Equipment (MHE), automation equipment, and facility infrastructure within a fast-paced distribution center environment. This role focuses on maximizing equipment uptime through troubleshooting, repairs, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Candidates must have hands-on conveyor maintenance and troubleshooting experience.

Location: Litchfield Park, AZ | Pay: $29-$35/hour based on experience

Essential Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on conveyor systems, sortation equipment, material handling equipment (MHE), and automated systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and robotic equipment.
  • Diagnose equipment failures and restore systems to operational status while minimizing downtime.
  • Utilize a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to manage work orders, document repairs, and track maintenance activities.
  • Perform maintenance on facility systems including lighting, plumbing, rack systems, guardrails, and general building infrastructure.
  • Support maintenance and repair of motors, drives, sensors, controls, and automation equipment.
  • Perform battery changes and preventive maintenance on batteries and charging systems.
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies.
  • Assist with welding, fabrication, carpentry, and facility repair projects as needed.
  • Support continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives.
  • Safely operate Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT), including forklifts, pallet jacks, and personnel lifts.
  • Follow all safety procedures, OSHA standards, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with operations, leadership, and fellow maintenance team members.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience supporting conveyor systems, Material Handling Equipment (MHE), automation equipment, or facility maintenance.
  • Strong experience troubleshooting and repairing conveyor systems.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and automated equipment.
  • Experience using a CMMS/work order management system.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT).
  • Willingness to obtain and maintain WSI Certification.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed in a 24/7 operation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with automated distribution centers, warehouse operations, or high-speed conveyor environments.
  • PLC troubleshooting experience.
  • Robotics and automation experience.
  • Welding and fabrication experience.
  • Building maintenance experience, including plumbing, lighting, and carpentry.
  • Experience supporting sortation systems and automated material handling equipment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, climb, reach, and work at heights.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures, dust, noise, and around moving equipment.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, lifts, and other industrial equipment.

Pay Details:$29.00 to $35.00 per hour
