    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Provides leadership and is responsible for technical support in electrical, instrumentation, and controls systems to all operations and areas of the plant by leading troubleshooting; identifying, developing, coordinating, and implementing training programs. Responsible for maintaining equipment in all production areas to keep it operating in a safe, efficient, and reliable manner while assuring compliance with applicable codes, safety regulations and standards. Supports engineering and facilities as needed to include boilers, elevators, roofing, grounds, painting and office moves. Also supports engineering for fabrication projects.(Add)

    Location: Bethlehem, PA

    Work Model: This is a 2nd Shift fully onsite role, five days per week, supporting a 24/7 manufacturing operation.

    PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Supervise associates and maintains smooth efficient operations of designated area for safe production of quality products in accordance with Company standards while consistently evaluating and optimizing schedules. Analyze downtime data and prioritizes plant maintenance opportunities.

    2. Lead instrumentation and controls troubleshooting activities in all areas of the plant. Act as a resource to assist and guide maintenance associates on all three shifts.

    3. Identify training needs of individual maintenance associates as well as of the overall maintenance group. Develop, coordinate, and implement training programs to meet the electrical, instrumentation, and controls needs of the maintenance organization. This includes supporting Safety with Identifying LOTO needs as well as Arc flash needs of maintenance associates.

    4. Ensure compliance of plant systems with applicable codes, safety regulations and standards. Develop and implement plans to address areas for improvement.

    5. Identify, plan, schedule, and execute preventive maintenance tasks to improve the safety, performance, and reliability of plant equipment and controls systems.

    6. Supports development and execution of a proactive safety culture focusing on behaviors that prevent safety incidents from occurring. Maintains safe working practices and conditions, conducts safety inspections and incident investigations. Counsels associates on safety and safe work practices. Ensures the safety, health, and wellbeing of all associates in support of the Company's people first culture.

    7. Promotes a strong food safety culture meeting and/or exceeding regulatory requirements and Just Born quality standards utilizing continuous improvement methodologies in the assigned area of responsibility. Assumes responsibility for inspection, identification, follow-up, and correction of all sanitation issues in assigned area.

    8. Research, evaluate, and recommend new technologies and equipment to improve mechanical, electrical, and controls related to the plant. Act as maintenance liaison with Engineering Department. Review, modify and approve new production processes and changes to existing production equipment initiated by the Engineering Department. Communicate priorities and plans to maintenance organization.

    9. Identify, coordinate, and supervise outside contractors to meet electrical, instrumentation and controls needs of the site. Ensure that outside contractors comply with safety and GMP requirements.

    10. Provide input for performing annual plant/production shutdown maintenance by communicating with other Maintenance Supervisors and Manager, Facilities Manager, as well as Operations Supervisors.

    11. Maintain technical documentation of plant systems and PLC programs. Upgrade, modify and supervise change on plant systems to meet Operations and Marketing/Sales needs for new products and new equipment installations.

    12. Perform duties of Maintenance Supervisor on weekend rotation and as needed for vacation coverage.

    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. Education: Formal training program after high school (vocational, business, or technical school), or an associate's degree.

    2. Experience: At least five years in the following areas: Electrical Controls, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Process Systems, Instrumentation, PLC programming and troubleshooting. Ability to analyze data using OEE and MES systems (Add)

    3. Leadership: Possesses the following skills and attributes: supervisory skills; leadership qualities; planning & execution; training, development & coaching; effective communication; teamwork; and customer focus.

    4. Knowledge Level: Must have a thorough knowledge of instrumentation and process controls systems, and knowledge, of various software packages including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.

    5. Required Skills: Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

    6. Equipment Operation: Hand tools; various test equipment and electric meters. Computer proficiency with PC based systems and required software. Comfortable learning and using mobile and network technology and SAP as needed. Internet. General office equipment.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Hearing and Vision - normal or corrected sufficient to enable the associate to perform the essential duties of the job
    • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively so as to perform the essential functions of the job
    • Mobility to negotiate office and plant areas so as to carry out the essential duties of the position
    • Physical and mental ability to perform the normal requirements of the position and maintain an acceptable level of attendance
    • Sitting for extended periods of time.
    • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and mouse.
    • Ability to prioritize and supervise the completion of multiple tasks/projects with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to work extended daily hours and as many as 7 days a week as business dictates.
