About the Role
As a Maintenance Assistant, you’ll help keep our senior living community safe, comfortable, and well-maintained for residents, visitors, and team members. You’ll work alongside the maintenance team on building repairs, preventive maintenance, groundskeeping, and day-to-day projects.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work, takes pride in a job well done, and can adapt to changing maintenance needs.
Job Duties:
- Perform general repairs and preventive maintenance in resident apartments, common areas, and throughout the community.
- Maintain outdoor spaces, including lawns, flower beds, walkways, and parking areas.
- Assist with maintenance of building systems, equipment, HVAC, pool, fitness, and kitchen areas.
- Keep maintenance tools, equipment, and supplies organized, secure, and properly stored.
- Respond to maintenance requests promptly and follow established safety procedures.
- Support the Director of Plant Operations with daily tasks, special projects, and maintenance planning.
- Operate community vehicles safely when needed.
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with residents, visitors, and team members.
Experience and Qualifications
- Previous maintenance experience (building, apartment, or facility maintenance preferred).
- Skills in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or related trades are a plus.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, and to stand, walk, or bend for extended periods.
- Basic computer skills for work orders and communication.
- Dependable, adaptable, and motivated to learn.
- Able to pass a background check and drug screening.
