    Base salary starts at $20.94/hr.

     

    E S S E N T I A L  F U N C T I O N S

    • Takes initiative to correct items, conditions, or repairs before they are reported to the Engineering department.
    • Implements all security policies and procedures.
    • Acts as the secondary contact for any building issues (climate control, odors, smoke, spills, damage, emergencies and repairs).
    • Assists in maintaining building security and immediately responds to building emergencies.
    • Assists with minor plumbing, electrical, and HVAC repairs under supervision.
    • Assists with departmental and employee moves.
    • Performs basic electrical work and determines when an electrician is required.
    • Replaces Fire Alarm devices.
    • Takes the Fire Panel off line.
    • Completes and assists with projects as assigned.
    • Understands which duties and work needs pre-approval and communicates this information to other staff and departments as necessary.
    • Completes scheduled preventative maintenance on work orders that are issued.
    • Other duties as assigned.

     

    E D U C A T I O N

    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

     

    E X P E R I E N C E

    • At least two (2) years’ maintenance experience preferred.
    • Experience in a hospital setting preferred.
    • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn required.

     

    C R E D E N T I A L S

    • Must certify in a de-escalation program as approved by IMH within six months of hire or transfer, and re-certify yearly to maintain certification throughout employment with IMH.
    • Must have a current, valid, driver’s license and be eligible for IMH liability insurance.

    • General maintenance skills.
    • Ability to use a computer, calculator, electrical equipment and work tools of various trades.
    • Excellent customer service skills, including but not limited to: a friendly personality, tact, patience, empathy and a helpful, professional attitude both in person and on the telephone.
    • Ability to effectively communicate with staff, managers and the general public verbally and in writing.
    • Demonstrate effective listening and learning skills.
    • Organization and time management skills and ability to establish priorities effectively.
    • Possess problem solving skills.
    • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to learn new computer software programs.
    • Ability to recognize and protect confidential information.
    • Demonstrate ethical and legal accountability for the position.
