    Description

    Position Purpose

    Builds the maintenance function before the plant needs it, arriving during installation so equipment history, spare parts and preventive maintenance plans are built from vendor data rather than reconstructed after the first failure.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Stand up the computerized maintenance management system, including asset register, equipment hierarchy, bills of material and preventive maintenance plans.
    • Build the critical spares list from vendor recommendations and criticality analysis, and secure spares before startup.
    • Own the mechanical integrity program for pressure equipment, relief devices, piping and instrumented protective systems.
    • Recruit, train and lead the mechanical and instrumentation and electrical maintenance technicians.
    • Establish planning and scheduling discipline, work order flow, and the weekly maintenance schedule.
    • Own lubrication, vibration monitoring, thermography and other predictive maintenance programs.
    • Capture vendor training during installation and commissioning and convert it into internal training material.
    • Own maintenance budget, contractor support agreements and reliability metrics.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience with a strong maintenance track record.
    • Ten or more years of industrial maintenance, including five or more years leading a maintenance organization.
    • Direct CMMS implementation experience.
    • Working knowledge of rotating equipment, pressure equipment and instrumentation maintenance.
    • Mechanical integrity program experience.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • CMRP certification.
    • Reliability centered maintenance facilitation experience.
    • Experience staffing a maintenance team in a rural labor market.
