    We are currently hiring two Maintenance Academy Technicians at our Kansas City, KS facility.

    Position Overview

    The Maintenance Academy is a structured training program designed to develop the next generation of skilled maintenance professionals. This position is ideal for mechanically inclined individuals who want to build a long-term career in industrial maintenance.

    Trainees will progress through several phases of hands-on learning, working alongside experienced maintenance professionals while completing assigned online learning modules and skills development activities.

    The program is designed to provide exposure to multiple maintenance disciplines before advancing into a Maintenance Technician role.

    What You'll Learn

    During the program, trainees will rotate through several maintenance disciplines:

    Phase 1: Lubrication & Preventive Maintenance (Oilers)

    • Learn equipment lubrication procedures
    • Perform routine inspections
    • Understand basic maintenance principles
    • Identify wear patterns and equipment issues
    • Complete preventive maintenance tasks

    Phase 2: Welding & Fabrication

    • Learn industrial welding practices
    • Assist with repairs and fabrication projects
    • Develop safe welding techniques
    • Understand metalworking and fabrication fundamentals

    Phase 3: Mechanical Maintenance

    • Shadow experienced mechanics
    • Learn equipment troubleshooting techniques
    • Assist with repairs of industrial equipment
    • Gain exposure to hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, conveyors, and power transmission systems
    • Develop mechanical problem-solving skills

    Technical Learning

    Throughout each phase, trainees will complete:

    • Online learning courses
    • Safety training
    • Equipment-specific training
    • Skills assessments
    • Hands-on competency evaluations

    What You'll Do

    • Work safely and follow all plant safety requirements
    • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop new skills
    • Participate in hands-on training activities
    • Complete required online coursework and certifications
    • Assist maintenance team members with inspections, repairs, and projects
    • Maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic
    • Follow established maintenance procedures
    • Work collaboratively with maintenance, operations, quality, and leadership teams

    Qualifications

    Required

    • High school diploma or GED
    • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
    • Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment
    • Ability to safely use hand tools and basic equipment
    • Strong attendance and reliability
    • Commitment to safety

    Preferred

    • Industrial, mechanical, automotive, military, vocational, or technical training experience
    • Previous manufacturing experience
    • Welding experience
    • Maintenance-related coursework or certifications
    • Basic computer skills
