Maintenance Supervisor

Our client is a food manufacturing company specializing in the production and packaging of food products. The organization operates a regulated manufacturing environment focused on quality, food safety, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement. Job Description

Equipment Maintenance & Production Support

  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair production machinery and facility equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, steam, and control system issues using technical drawings, schematics, and testing equipment.
  • Support equipment installations, calibrations, alignments, and optimization initiatives.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve reliability and performance.
  • Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Interpret technical manuals, electrical diagrams, and equipment documentation.

Preventive Maintenance & Asset Management

  • Execute and document preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Maintain maintenance records, equipment histories, and calibration documentation.
  • Assist in managing preventive maintenance schedules and spare parts inventories.
  • Identify potential equipment failures and recommend proactive solutions.
  • Support maintenance planning and purchasing activities as required.

Facility & Building Maintenance

  • Oversee general facility upkeep, including building systems and infrastructure.
  • Perform or coordinate minor carpentry, painting, plumbing, welding, and fabrication work as needed.
  • Maintain lighting, electrical systems, doors, flooring, and related building components.
  • Ensure facility systems support sanitary and safe manufacturing operations.

Safety, Compliance & Quality

  • Enforce company safety policies and maintenance best practices, including Lockout/Tagout procedures.
  • Support compliance with applicable food safety, environmental, and workplace safety regulations.
  • Conduct inspections, identify hazards, and implement corrective actions.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and quality throughout the facility.

Team Leadership & Contractor Coordination

  • Provide guidance, training, and day-to-day support to maintenance personnel.
  • Coordinate external contractors and service providers to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and to required quality standards.
  • Communicate maintenance priorities, equipment status, and downtime issues effectively across departments.
  • Assist in developing maintenance procedures and continuous improvement initiatives.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Maintenance Supervisor should have:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of maintenance experience within a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Experience using maintenance software, spreadsheets, and digital documentation tools.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Experience within food manufacturing, packaging, or consumer goods production.
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and asset management systems.
  • Experience working with conveyors, pumps, compressors, boilers, motors, VFDs, and PLC-controlled equipment.
  • Welding and fabrication experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to obtain or maintain forklift certification.
