AWT has the following position open in our Minneapolis, MN location:

The schedule for this position is SMT Hours are - 4:20am to 4:40pm. Additional days and hours may be necessary due to production requirements.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing machinery used in the printing production process; this position also conducts first-level troubleshooting and maintenance of facilities.

  • Conducts regular inspections on press equipment according to daily, weekly and monthly checklists.

  • Performs preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on press equipment, including cleaning, lubricating, adjusting machines and replacing worn parts to ensure optimal performance and reduce wear.

  • Determines nature of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic problems and possible solutions to minimize downtime.

  • Repairs or replaces malfunctioning components to ensure continuity of operations.

  • Submits requests for spares/replacement parts, as well as service calls for external contractors as needed, and follows up until resolved.

  • Calibrates machines and performs adjustments to ensure color registration and quality standards.

  • Assists in training operators on routine maintenance tasks and safe equipment handling.

  • Provides technical support to press operators and other production staff for adequate machine operation.

  • Collaborates with production and quality teams to identify and resolve press-related issues.

  • Conducts first-level troubleshooting of facility systems and completes minor repairs and maintenance related to plumbing (backup drains, plunging), illumination management and office furniture assembly/disassembly.

  • Ensures the facility is in compliance with safety regulations and health codes.

  • Assists in coordinating and overseeing the work of outside contractors for specialized repairs, such as roofing, machinery equipment, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, security systems, pest control, etc.

  • Maintains records of maintenance activities, including service logs, part inventories, and maintenance schedules.

  • Documents equipment malfunctions and maintenance procedures for future reference.

  • Keeps spare/back-up parts inventoried as needed and maintained on a list.

  • Maintains company owned tools and labels parts to keep them identified by system/equipment.

  • Supports “Lean” initiatives, as well as 5S programs in concert with production management.

  • Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement in maintenance processes and implements best practices to optimize the use of resources and quality.

  • Other duties as assigned.
