Maint Technician

Minimum Skills and Abilities Required:

• Demonstrates keen listening skills to comprehend information presented through spoken English.
• Actively seeks clarification through appropriate questioning.

• Executes physically demanding activities involving lifting, balancing, walking, and stooping, with substantial use of arms and legs in material handling.
• Capable of lifting a minimum of 50 lbs and standing for up to 10 hours per day.
• Adaptable to walking up or down 15 flights of stairs if an elevator is unavailable.
• Possesses a High School Diploma or GED; vocational training or related on-the-job experience is satisfactory.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Embodies the values of Brett/Robinson, acting as a dynamic representative with courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions.
• Analyzes work orders and specifications promptly to identify machines and equipment requiring immediate repair or maintenance.
• Executes swift and effective repairs or replacements of defective locks, hinges, and wooden components, utilizing glue, hand tools, and power tools.
• Expertly disassembles appliances to diagnose specific mechanical and electrical issues, ensuring a rapid problem-solving approach.
• Replaces worn and defective parts, such as switches, ceiling fans, or outlets, with a sense of urgency.
• Demonstrates agility in repairing and maintaining plumbing systems, promptly addressing defective washers, garbage disposals, water lines, toilets, and broken pipes, while opening clogged drains.
• Proficient in the installation and/or repair of wiring, electrical, and electronic components, ensuring swift resolution of issues.
• Conducts thorough inspections and tests on appliances to diagnose machine malfunctions expediently.
• Maintains meticulous records of repairs made and associated costs, contributing to efficiency and accountability.
• Actively participates in departmental meetings, bringing forth valuable insights and feedback.
• Displays initiative by undertaking additional duties as assigned, showcasing a proactive and motivated approach to the role.
• Strives to exceed expectations by aiming to complete a minimum average of 15 work orders per month, with recognition and incentives provided for outstanding effort and achievement.

Working Conditions:

• Brett-Robinson maintenance departments are staffed seven days per week. There may be a scheduling need that requires evening hours. Maintenance uniforms required. Hats must bear a Brett-Robinson logo. Uniforms must be laundered, pressed, and fit appropriately.
• Work environment includes exposure to inclement weather, heat, and humidity.
