Maint Plumber-Facilities Engineering 80hrs Biweekly Nights

Assembles/installs/maintains/repairs pipes, fittings, water fixtures, drainage systems, oxygen, and other piped gas in accordance with specifications/plumbing codes. Possess a current American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) 6040 Medical Gas Systems Maintenance Personnel certification (ASSE 6040), OR obtains within 6 months of hire.

Shift: 11:00 pm - 7:30 am

Assembles/installs/maintains/repairs pipes, fittings, water fixtures, drainage systems, oxygen, and other piped gas in accordance with specifications/plumbing codes. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications:

Required:

• HS Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam. Meets one of the following:

1. Possess a Plumbing License for the State of Ohio through the Ohio Construction Industry Licensing Board (OCILB).
2. Possess a Journeyman's Plumbing License.
3. Documented 8 years of plumbing experience.

• 4 years of documented plumbing experience.
• Possess a current certificate showing completion of the Infection Control Risk Assessment - 8 Hour (ICRA-8 hour) training program, OR obtains within 6 months of hire.
• Maintains the certificate as needed.
• Possess a current American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) 6040 Medical Gas Systems Maintenance Personnel certification (ASSE 6040), OR obtains within 6 months of hire.
• Maintains the certificate as needed.
• Maintains working knowledge of Plumbing Codes.
• Possess a current, valid Driver's License.
• Ability to read and utilize blue prints.
• Solid problem solving skills, and able to use sound judgment.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Basic personal computer skills.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to follow directions.
• Ability to work independently/with minimal supervision, or as part of a team.
• Willing and able to adjust from the standard work schedule as needed for operational coverage, including days that are not normally worked, and at locations not normally assigned.

Preferred:

• Possess a Fire Sprinkler Installer License for the State of Ohio.
• Possess a current American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) 6010 Medical Gas Systems Installer certification (ASSE 6010), and maintains the certification as needed.
• Possess a current Back Flow Certification from the American Backflow Prevention Association (ABPA).
• Prior Healthcare industry experience.

Physical Requirements:

• May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day.
• May need to sit or stand for extended periods.
• See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
• Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
• Ability to climb intermittently during the day. Ability to push/pull 70-150 pounds.
• Ability to lift 10-40 pounds.
• Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.
• Requires some exposure to chemicals and cleaning products.
