Mainframe z/OS Storage & DB2 Administrator

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe z/OS Storage & DB2 Administrator with strong hands-on experience supporting enterprise IBM mainframe environments. Perform Mainframe Storage Administration, including DASD, datasets, volumes, catalogs, and storage allocation.

Duration: 12+ Months
Compensation: $65-70/hr

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe z/OS Storage & DB2 Administrator with strong hands-on experience supporting enterprise IBM mainframe environments. The ideal candidate will have expertise in z/OS, Mainframe Storage, and DB2 for z/OS Administration, along with strong troubleshooting and production support skills.

Responsibilities:

• Administer and support IBM z/OS mainframe environments.
• Perform Mainframe Storage Administration, including DASD, datasets, volumes, catalogs, and storage allocation.
• Manage and support DFSMS, SMS, HSM, and storage policies.
• Monitor storage capacity, performance, availability, and utilization.
• Perform DB2 for z/OS administration, including database maintenance, monitoring, backup, recovery, and performance tuning.
• Manage DB2 objects, tablespaces, indexes, buffer pools, logs, and storage groups.
• Execute and troubleshoot DB2 utilities such as REORG, RUNSTATS, COPY, RECOVER, LOAD, and CHECK DATA.
• Troubleshoot DB2 locking, deadlocks, performance, and connectivity issues.
• Support z/OS system maintenance, upgrades, and production troubleshooting.
• Develop and maintain JCL for operational and administrative activities.
• Use JES2, SDSF, TSO, and ISPF for system monitoring and administration.
• Support disaster recovery, backup/recovery, and business continuity activities.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, database, and operations teams to resolve production issues.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of hands-on Mainframe engineering experience.
• Strong DB2 for z/OS Administration experience.
• Experience with DFSMS, SMS, HSM, DASD, and dataset management.
• Strong Mainframe Storage Administration experience.
• Strong knowledge of JCL, JES2, SDSF, TSO, and ISPF.
• Experience with DB2 utilities, backup/recovery, and performance tuning.
• Strong troubleshooting and production support experience.
• Experience working in large-scale, enterprise mainframe environments.
