Job Title : Mainframe IDMS Database Administrator
Location: Omaha, NE (Onsite)
Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Mainframe IDMS DBA with strong hands-on experience in CA IDMS database administration on IBM Mainframe environments. The candidate will be responsible for database design, administration, performance tuning, backup/recovery, production support, and troubleshooting.
Required Skills:
Experience in Mainframe Database Administration
Strong hands-on experience with CA IDMS / IDMS DB
Strong knowledge of IDMS database architecture and structures
Experience with IDMS schema and subschema
Strong knowledge of IDMS utilities and commands
Experience with database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery
Experience with IDMS performance tuning and optimization
Experience with database reorganization and maintenance
Strong knowledge of JCL
Experience with VSAM and sequential datasets
Experience troubleshooting production database issues
Experience with CICS and/or DB2 is a plus
Responsibilities:
Administer and maintain IDMS databases in production and non-production environments.
Perform database monitoring, tuning, backup, recovery, and reorganization.
Analyze and resolve database performance and availability issues.
Develop and maintain IDMS schemas and subschemas.
Support application development teams with database-related requirements.
Execute database utilities and maintenance jobs using JCL.
