Mainframe Engineer

A 12-month contract opportunity for a Mainframe Engineer based in Phoenix, Arizona. This role focuses on mainframe operations, incident management, and cross-functional coordination to support production systems and resolve critical issues.

Responsibilities

• Handle Incident, Problem, Change, and Release Management activities
• Coordinate with business users, onsite teams, and cross-functional support teams for issue resolution
• Lead Major Incident Management (MIM) and bridge calls for critical production outages
• Execute emergency fixes, production deployments, and validation activities
• Communicate with customers and stakeholders regarding incidents, resolutions, and system status

Qualifications

• Required
• Strong hands-on experience in COBOL
• Strong hands-on experience in JCL
• Strong hands-on experience in DB2
• Strong hands-on experience in CICS
• Strong hands-on experience in VSAM
• Experience in customer-facing roles and stakeholder communications
