Mainframe Engineer

The ideal candidate will work closely with experienced engineers on coding, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and system improvements while building expertise in z/OS, PLX, and Assembler. This role supports the development, maintenance, and enhancement of print-related products and services on the mainframe platform.

Candidates who receive an offer will be required to successfully complete a background check and drug test as a condition of employment.

Overview

This role supports the development, maintenance, and enhancement of print-related products and services on the mainframe platform. The ideal candidate will work closely with experienced engineers on coding, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and system improvements while building expertise in z/OS, PLX, and Assembler. The position requires a detail-oriented, process-driven professional with strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and support print-related products and services on the mainframe platform.

• Assist with coding, testing, debugging, and troubleshooting mainframe applications.

• Investigate technical issues, identify root causes, document findings, and implement guided fixes.

• Support enhancements to existing print processes and workflows.

• Participate in code reviews and technical/design discussions.

• Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to resolve issues and support print services.

• Maintain clear and accurate documentation of systems, processes, issues, decisions, and solutions.

• Build expertise in z/OS, PLX, Assembler, and other mainframe technologies.

• Identify opportunities to improve tools, processes, and team efficiency.

• Review code and documentation for accuracy, completeness, and quality.

• Apply established software development, testing, and documentation practices.

• Demonstrate strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

• Work effectively in a team environment through hands-on learning and mentorship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

• Professional experience in software development, system/product design, and integration.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering accurate, complete work.

• Ability to document technical issues, decisions, and solutions thoroughly.

• Willingness to develop deep expertise in mainframe technologies.
