    Mainframe Developer Position Description

    We are seeking a Mainframe Developer to join our team. The selected candidate will work a hybrid schedule consisting of two (2) days each week onsite in Trenton, NJ and three (3) days each week remotely.

    Job Description:
    We are looking for a Mainframe Developer to support the design, development, testing, maintenance, and production support of critical applications.

    What You ll Do:
    • Analyze business and system requirements and translate them into technical solutions
    • Develop and modify mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, DB2, and JCL
    • Perform coding, component testing, assembly testing, debugging, and production support activities
    • Develop and maintain program specifications and technical documentation
    • Conduct unit testing and participate in system and user acceptance testing
    • Collaborate with business users and technical teams to ensure successful implementation of solutions
    • Support maintenance and enhancement efforts for existing applications
    • Participate in database conversion and modernization efforts as needed
    • Work under the direction of the Information Technology Office Project Manager or designated representative

    What You'll Need:
    Required:
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical study
    • 5+ years of overall IT and application development experience
    • 5+ years of hands-on COBOL coding, testing, and debugging experience
    • 5+ years of IBM OS/JCL (MVS) experience
    • 5+ years of CICS development, testing, and debugging experience
    • 5+ years of IBM DB2 development, testing, and debugging experience
    • 5+ years of experience developing technical and user documentation
    • 5+ years of experience performing usability testing and participating in system testing with end users
    • 5+ years of experience developing and supporting stored procedures
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
    • Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
    Preferred:
    • 5+ years of IDMS to DB2 conversion experience
    • 5+ years of IDMS/DC to CICS conversion experience
    • Experience with Information Builders FOCUS
    • Experience supporting large-scale government or judicial systems
    • Experience with legacy system modernization and database migration initiatives

    Physical Demands:
    • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards
    • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings
    • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
