Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer / COBOL Developer with 14+ years of experience in designing, developing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise-scale mainframe applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in COBOL development, legacy system modernization, and application support within Agile environments.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and support enterprise Mainframe applications.
Write, test, debug, and deploy COBOL programs.
Enhance existing software and develop new applications to support business requirements.
Analyze technical specifications and implement efficient solutions.
Participate in application design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis.
Collaborate with business analysts, developers, QA teams, and project managers.
Follow Agile, Incremental, and Spiral development methodologies.
Ensure adherence to coding standards, documentation, and best practices.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous process improvements.
Required Skills
14+ years of Mainframe Application Development experience.
Strong expertise in COBOL.
Hands-on experience with JCL.
Experience with DB2.
Knowledge of VSAM.
Experience with CICS.
Strong SQL skills.
Production support and application maintenance.
Debugging and performance tuning.
Mainframe batch processing.
Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
IBM Mainframe environment.
Endevor or Changeman.
File transfers and scheduling tools.
Banking, Automotive, Insurance, or Enterprise application experience.
