    Description

    IDR is seeking a Mainframe DBA to join one of our top clients for a remote opportunity. This role supports a large-scale public sector technology environment, helping ensure critical systems remain stable, secure, and high-performing. You will partner with application and infrastructure teams to maintain and optimize enterprise mainframe database platforms.

    Position Overview for the Mainframe DBA:

    • Administer and maintain IBM Db2 for z/OS databases in a mainframe environment
    • Monitor database health, availability, and performance to ensure reliable daily operations
    • Execute database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures supporting high availability needs
    • Analyze workloads to tune performance, resolve bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies
    • Collaborate on deployments, upgrades, documentation, and ongoing operational best practices

    Requirements for the Mainframe DBA:

    • 5+ years of IBM Db2 for z/OS administration experience in a mainframe environment
    • Strong knowledge of z/OS operating system fundamentals
    • Hands-on experience with database backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and high availability strategies
    • Proven ability to monitor, tune, and optimize Db2 performance through workload analysis and troubleshooting
    • Experience with database security administration, user access management, and production support/incident resolution
