Mainframe Database Engineer - Chandler, AZ (Hybrid, 12-Month Contract)

Join a leading technology team as a Mainframe Database Engineer, where you'll play a vital role in managing IBM DB2 for z/OS environments and their replication products. Based in Chandler, AZ, this hybrid contract position offers you the chance to work with cutting-edge mainframe technologies, collaborate with expert teams, and develop your career in enterprise data management. Responsibilities
- Install, upgrade, and maintain IBM DB2 for z/OS and replication products (Qrep, SQLrep, CDC)
- Conduct certification testing and document operational procedures
- Execute disaster recovery testing and ensure systems resilience
- Provide 24x7 on-call support as part of a rotation, including off-hours troubleshooting
- Collaborate with support teams, vendors, and management to resolve technical issues
- Apply advanced analytical and debugging skills to deliver high system availability
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven expertise with IBM DB2 for z/OS and replication technologies (Qrep, SQLrep, CDC)
- Strong track record in software installation, upgrades, maintenance, and testing
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated analytical and troubleshooting abilities
Preferred Skills
- Experience with BMC for DB2 Tools, IBM z/OS Connect, Software AG ADABAS/Natural
- Programming proficiency with REXX
- Familiarity with SQL, JIRA, SMP/E, RACF, TCP/IP, network certificates, Splunk
- Understanding of CICS, IMS, MQ mainframe subsystems
