Position Summary

SMX Services & Consulting, Inc. is seeking experienced Mainframe Computer Operators to support mainframe data center operations at the U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO), 732 North Capitol Street NW, Washington, DC 20401.

This is a 100% onsite position requiring hands-on experience operating mainframe data center equipment, including high-speed laser printers, impact printers, and burster equipment.

Required Experience

Candidates must have documented, in-depth experience with:

• High-speed laser printer operation and maintenance

• Impact printer operation and maintenance

• Burster equipment

• Mainframe data center operations

• Mainframe job processing and operational support

• JCL and TSO

• Job scheduling and tracking

• Report handling and distribution

• Printer troubleshooting

• Loading and managing paper, toner, developer, and related supplies

• Coordinating equipment issues with operating-system and printer maintenance personnel

Work Schedule

The Government requires two operational shifts:

Shift 1: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Shift 2: 3:00 PM–11:30 PM

Mandatory Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen

• Must be available for 100% onsite work at the GPO facility in Washington, DC

• Remote work is not available

• Must have demonstrated mainframe data center experience

• Must have hands-on high-speed laser printer experience

• Must have hands-on impact printer experience

• Must have experience operating burster equipment

• Must provide a complete resume documenting relevant experience

Pay:$55.59–$57.77/hour
