Title: Mainframe Application Developer
Locations: Plano, TX
Duration: 6 Months
Pay Range: $40 - $45/Hour on W2/C2C (All inclusive)
Introduction
We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Application Developer with a strong background in IBM mainframes, Cobol, IMS DB, DB2, JCL, MQ series, and Xpeditor. The ideal candidate will have 5 to 8 years of experience in application development, excluding production support profiles.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5 to 8 years of experience in IBM mainframes, Cobol, IMS DB, DB2, JCL, MQ series, and Xpeditor
- Strong testing experience (unit, integration, contract)
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to ask questions and offer recommendations
- Demonstrated quick learner with a self-starter attitude
- Prior work experience at client or in client's industry
- Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Good working knowledge of Spring Boot and Git
- Experience in IT IS_AMS_Mainframe_IMS Administration
- Experience in System Z - Enterprise COBOL and System Z - JCL
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Design, code, test, and maintain applications
- Assist Quality Assurance teams in testing applications
- Peer review code and technical documents for other team members
- Participate in on-call rotation to resolve application failures
- Assist in research and issue resolution for processing of business data
- Monitor and troubleshoot system performance and coordinate with respective support teams to resolve software and hardware issues
