    Description

    Customer/1 Mainframe Application Developer

    Experience

    • 5-8 years of experience as a mainframe application developer or senior support developer
    • Experience supporting Customer Information Systems (CIS) in a utility environment
    • Prior experience with Customer/1 (C/1) or similar utility CIS platforms

    Technical Skills

    • Hands on development experience with:

    o COBOL

    o JCL

    o CICS and/or IMS

    o DB2 on z/OS

    • Experience supporting batch and online processing in production environments
    • Understanding of bill critical batch cycles and production schedules

    Domain & Communication Skills

    • Strong understanding of utility billing and customer processes
    • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
    • Effective communication with technical and non technical stakeholders
    • Strong quality focus and ownership mindset

    Roles & Responsibilities

    • Design, develop, and enhance functionality within the Customer/1 (C/1) application
    • Implement business and regulatory requirements using standard mainframe development practices
    • Perform impact analysis and code changes related to:
    • Customer setup and maintenance
    • Billing, bill calculation, and invoicing
    • Adjustments, rebills, and billing exceptions
    • Provide L2/L3 production support for Customer/1 applications
    • Analyze and fix batch and online processing issues, including billing critical failures
    • Support bill runs and ensure timely completion of customer and billing processes
    • Participate in root cause analysis and implement long term fixes
    • Work closely with business analysts and functional teams to clarify requirements
    • Support testing phases (unit, system, UAT) and production releases
    • Maintain application documentation and technical artifacts
    • Follow defined change, release, and compliance processes
