    CHC is a nonprofit social service agency serving the Akron area. Our mission is to treat, inspire, support, and empower individuals and families impacted by addiction. Since 1974, CHC has been a critical part of Ohio’s efforts to prevent and treat substance use disorders.
     
    We are currently seeking a Mailroom/Medical Records Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of our agency. This is a part-time position working 18 hours per week, three 6-hour days:
    Monday, Wednesday & Friday | 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
    Key Responsibilities
    • Process incoming mail by sorting, dating, and distributing mail to multiple CHC buildings.
    • Process outgoing mail, including stamping and preparing items for mailing.
    • Copy materials for CHC staff and prepare informational packets as needed.
    • Assist with processing requests for medical records and related information.
    • Prepare and forward requested medical record information to referral sources and outside agencies in accordance with agency procedures.
    • Document information provided by telephone and maintain appropriate records in patient charts.
    • Assist with answering the agency’s main incoming telephone line and direct calls to the appropriate staff member or department.
    • Maintain patient files by filing pertinent information alphabetically, chronologically, or according to established procedures.
    Minimum Qualifications
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Ability to stand and remain active for the duration of the scheduled shift.
    • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
    • Ability to bend, squat, crouch, kneel, reach above shoulder level, and push/pull as needed to perform job duties.
    • Valid Ohio driver’s license and an insurable driving record.
    • Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment.
    • Basic knowledge of business English, spelling, and arithmetic.
    • Ability to follow detailed oral and written instructions.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
