Machinist

gpac, a recruiting firm with 30+ years in business, is partnered with a well-established company in the structural steel and metals fabrication industry in the Rockford, IL area. Our client is seeking a Machinist to produce precision parts.

STEEL INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED: candidates must have machining experience in a steel or metals fabrication environment.

Position Responsibilities:

- Set up and run machining equipment

- Produce parts to drawings and tolerances

- Follow safety and quality procedures

- Maintain equipment

- Meet production goals

Position Essential Job Functions:

- Read blueprints and GD&T

- Set up mills, lathes, and CNC equipment

- Inspect parts with precision tools

- Make adjustments

- Keep records

Position Skills:

- Required: Experience in the structural steel or metals fabrication/erection industry

- 2+ years of machining experience

- Ability to read blueprints

- CNC experience preferred

- Strong measuring skills

- Attention to detail
