POSITION OVERVIEW
As a
Machinist / Model Maker, Master Level, your roles and responsibilities will include:
- Operate and program Swiss-style lathes for precision turning operations.
- Develop and sustain advanced machining processes.
- Perform CNC programming and precision machining while maintaining tight tolerances.
- Interpret GD&T specifications and independently meet dimensional requirements.
- Perform advanced in-process metrology and inspection.
- Maintain accurate setup sheets, tool offset logs, and inspection records.
- Manage tooling, fixtures, and production priorities independently.
- Work closely with R&D and Engineering on microwave applications and mechanical components.
- Support design-for-manufacturability, product release, production, and NPI activities.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, Management, and Production/NPI Scheduling teams.
- Adapt to changing production priorities while maintaining quality standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
Most importantly, you need to be a passionate
Machinist / Model Maker who enjoys their work and is considered to be one of the best within your organization. The ideal
Machinist / Model Maker would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:
- Master-level proficiency operating and programming Swiss-style lathes.
- Strong CNC programming expertise.
- Ability to interpret GD&T specifications and hold tight tolerances.
- Advanced metrology and in-process inspection experience.
- Experience maintaining setup sheets, tool offset logs, and inspection records.
- Ability to independently manage tooling, fixtures, and job priorities.
- 10+ years of relevant machining/model-making experience preferred.
- Mill/Turn machining center experience is a plus.
- CAD/Solid Modeling experience is a plus.
- Tool grinding experience is a plus.
