Machinist

Under minimum supervision of the Machine Shop Group Leader, Machinists, using manual machines, make parts to print in the most efficient manner possible, perform PM on machines and cranes, participate in quality and productivity improvement initiatives. Have or be able to immediately get lift truck operators license through internal training.

Title: Machinist
Location: Mansfield, OH (100% Onsite)
Duration: 6 months contract with possible extension
Pay Range: $20.00 - $24.95 per hour
Shift: 3rd SHIFT - first month: 7:30 am - 4pm and Remaining: 10pm - 6 am


Job Description
Under minimum supervision of the Machine Shop Group Leader, Machinists, using manual machines, make parts to print in the most efficient manner possible, perform PM on machines and cranes, participate in quality and productivity improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Operate machines as directed
• Perform quality checks as required.
• Perform preventative maintenance checks
• Maintain operability
• Ensure all measuring devices are current calibration.
• Use cranes and lifting devices in a safe manner.
• Check drawings and shop routing for correct revision levels.
• Maintain clean, safe, environmentally friendly work environment.

Must Have

• Current and relevant manual machining experience
• Ability to correctly use variety of measuring tools
• Read engineering drawings and manufacture parts to print
• Have or be able to immediately get lift truck operators license through internal training

Physical Requirements

• Lift up to 30 lbs. regularly – 40 lbs. intermittently.
• Stand 8 hours per day
• Use computer to enter labor reporting
• Load and unload machines
