Machinist Maintenance (Quinnesec, MI)
Job description
Purpose:
The Machinist is responsible for safely setting up, operating, maintaining, and repairing machine shop equipment to manufacture and restore precision components that support mill operations. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety, quality, reliability, and continuous improvement.

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Technical certification or associate's degree in machining, industrial maintenance or a related field preferred.
Experience:
Proven experience as a machinist, with a strong understanding of machining processes and equipment.
Minimum 5 years of relevant machining experience is preferred.
Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
Skills:
Proficiency with manual machines; including lathes, mills, grinders, and other machining equipment.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Strong precision measurement and troubleshooting skills.
Knowledge of machining techniques, materials, and tooling.
Multi-craft maintenance experience preferred.
Familiarity with SAP or equivalent CMMS systems.
Understanding of predictive and preventive maintenance practices.
Strong computer skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and make sound decisions in fast-paced environments.
Certifications:
Machinist trade school or industry certification is a plus.
