The Machinist is responsible for repairing or rebuilding tools and die components using manual machine shop equipment.

Essential Job Functions

• Set up and operate manual machines, including lathes, drill presses, saws, and grinders.
• Maintain machines and tools in good working condition.
• Sharpen knives and scissors.
• Service steel rule dies, including sharpening blades and replacing punches.
• Perform basic mold repairs, including repairing mold marks, updating date codes, making or changing poppets, and making simple tools.
• Read blueprints and other tool design documentation.
• Fabricate and modify basic tooling and components.
• Make recommendations to supervisors to improve process flow.
• Perform basic inspections.
• Use various hand and power tools.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools, parts, paperwork, and other materials are stored properly.
• Comply with applicable company and site policies and procedures.
• Work in other functional areas as needed to support business needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience.
• Trade school education or related work experience preferred.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

• Ability to work around chemicals while following applicable Safety Data Sheet (SDS) requirements, including materials such as alcohol, acids, and bases
